The 7th of April is World Health Day which commemorates the founding of the World Health Organization. This specialized agency of the United Nations seeks to improve the health of men, women and children of the world.
The WHO defines health as a state of complete physical mental and social wellbeing, not just the absence of disease. Health topics range from Anemia to Zoonoses with an endless number of diseases in between. The objective of the WHO is to efficiently deal with these diseases and come to a stage where there is ‘an attainment by all people of the highest possible level of health’
At Sangath we have worked on numerous programs to develop a healthier society. We aim to create awareness about health that includes not just physical, but also mental wellbeing.
